Most creditors deal with their customers if they are in arrears on repayments usually by telephone or by letter. In some cases, it can be a very intimidating experience for someone who may not be aware of what a creditor is able to or not do.

For many people in this situation this experience can be overwhelming and they are not always able to achieve explaining their full personal and financial position clearly. In some cases, this can lead to people being forced into repayment arrangements by the creditor they are not able to sustain long term. Usually the person agrees to the creditors demands out of sheer frustration.

Financial Counsellors often can recall when a client may have come to them for support and assistance, and been informed of the various tactics that creditors and more importantly debt recovery agencies have tried to achieve repayment of a debt.

For people who may not have the skills to deal with this it becomes a very frustrating and intimidating experience, which usually leads to reluctance by the customer to further engage with the creditor to avoid further confrontation. If this is your case call a Financial Counsellor.
