FCAWA has four levels of membership available:
- Affiliate – An individual working in the financial counselling sector in a related role
Actively studying for the Diploma of Community Services (Financial Counselling) or has completed the Diploma of Community Services Financial Counselling – but is not working as a financial counsellor
- Associate – An individual working as a financial counsellor
Actively studying for the Diploma of Community Services (Financial Counselling)
Holds the Diploma of Community Services (Financial Counselling) and has not yet had 24 months’ full-time experience, however meets the requirements for continuing professional development and supervision.
- Accredited – An individual who has had 24 months’ full-time experience practicing as a financial counsellor or rural financial counsellor
Holds the Diploma of Community Services (Financial Counselling)
Currently working as a financial counsellor and meets the requirements for continuing professional development and supervision
If not currently working as a financial counsellor, meets the requirements for continuing professional development
- Subscriber – Is open to individuals over 18 years and agencies/organisations:
a) who are actively supportive of the aims of the Association;
b) whose interests are not in conflict with the interests of the Association; and
c) in the case of organisations, those whose objects and purposes are not inconsistent with those of the Association, as evidenced in the applicant organisation’s constitution, rules, memorandum of association or other documents which set out the objects and purposes of the organisation.

FCAWA’s membership runs from 1 July to 30 June each year.

FCAWA wishes to advise prospective members that fees need to be paid before the application is endorsed by the Executive Committee. Membership fees must be paid by 1st September as per the Constitution item 9.2(3)
